There are several simple steps you can take to reduce the amount of time required to run Prep Fields and Tables.
1. Hide any worksheets that are unnecessary to the report. You can hide several sheets at a time by using the Narrative1 Options utility.
2. Hide any fields (Rows) you aren't using in your template. You can easily see what is not being used by prepping an Excel file, merging into your template, and then using the Mark Active Fields button in the N1 Options utility.
Note: Make sure to “Clear” the Active fields after you are done with this exercise.
3. Make sure the following checkboxes in N1 Options are turned off (not checked):
- Name Comp Fields
- Enable multiple workbooks merge
